We made it through the season! Sadly (or not), summer has finally ended here in the States. Not sure if it’s a good thing or not but I am glad as f-ck it’s finally over. I don’t even know how it feels like to be unoccupied anymore. August was hell of a busy month which is why I think it only lasted for 3 days. Just kidding; they say time flies when you’re busy and/or having fun, but why did August felt like 3-freaking-months? Days went by fast but weeks? Jesus Christ. Thank goodness September has arrived. Well, no, actually.. the beginning of September wasn’t actually a good start; everything went from ‘action-packed’ to lifeless. Employees (who are only here for the season) are also starting to leave. I’m not used to not seeing the faces I used to see everyday for 4 months. The fact that I will/may not see those people ever again makes me sad. I guess goodbyes are inevitable– sad but very true. (may hugot?!) It was nice meeting all of them, though.
Anyway.. The slow-going pace in the kitchen and the buffet room is very unusual (and somehow boring) that some times I wish it’s still summer. I was the only one (among the four interns in Bella AM) who went to work last Thursday and I was able to handle both pancake and omelette station. I was alone. Can you imagine how hard it was for me to entertain myself during service time? I even thought of doing backflips in the buffet area out of boredom. Why can’t we just go back to how it used to? The not-so-busy and not-too-slow days. But hey guess what, I had two days off this week!!
Eeeeep! I freaking missed having two days off! But the major drawback is being under time. Less hours = less stipend 🙁 At least I get to catch up on sleep and spend two days without worrying about waking up early the next day! Ha!
So it’s already the seventh of September; 2 months and 8 days away from our last day at The Sagamore. 9 Saturdays left. Nine. Let that sink in, self. Ahhhh time goes by really fast. I cannot believe we’ve
been doing the same shit here for almost four months already. How come I have not thoroughly explored Bolton Landing yet? Yeah, work. I just wish time would slow down a bit. Things just started getting interesting than before, it makes me want to spend the rest of the year in here. All I know as of the moment is I don’t want to leave yet. There is a part of me that wants to go back home already but there’s also this other half that makes me want to stay and just get a thrill out of the run. Whatever, I’m going to make the most out of the remaining two months.
Ilabas ang tequila! Chos.
